Sustainability & Eco-Conscious Material
The world generates an estimated 92 to 120 million tonnes of textile waste every year — projected to reach 134 million tonnes by 2030.
Every second, the equivalent of a garbage truck full of clothing is landfilled or incinerated. Without meaningful intervention, the global fashion waste stream is expected to increase by more than 50% within the next decade.
The consequences extend far beyond landfills. The fashion industry accounts for approximately 20% of global industrial wastewater, largely from dyeing and finishing processes — and contributes an estimated 8–10% of global carbon emissions, exceeding the combined emissions of international flights and maritime shipping.
Every year, washing synthetic garments releases around 500,000 tonnes of microfibres into the oceans, equivalent to roughly 50 billion plastic bottles entering marine ecosystems annually.
Today, more than 60% of clothing is made from synthetic, plastic-based fibres that do not biodegrade. In Chile’s Atacama Desert — now considered the world’s largest fashion landfill — mountains of discarded clothing are visible from satellite imagery.

Accepted Certifications:
- GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) — Full supply chain organic fibre standard, including social criteria
- OCS (Organic Content Standard) — Verified organic material content
- GRS (Global Recycled Standard) — Recycled content with environmental and social requirements

Certification details, material composition and fulfillment center location information are listed directly on eligible product pages. Not all our products carry these certifications yet, and we're transparent about what is and isn't certified. We believe honesty builds trust.
Our Eco-Conscious Practices
Made to Order — Every piece is produced only after purchase, eliminating overproduction and unsold inventory waste.
Localized Fulfillment — Over 85% of orders fulfilled within the same region, reducing transit distances and CO₂ emissions.
Sustainable Packaging — 90–100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) packaging for North American orders; 70% global target. Shipped in compostable eco mailers for orders from Australia.
Supply Chain Traceability — Knitting, dyeing, and manufacturing locations disclosed. Full accountability from fibre to finished garment.
Waste Management — Fabric scraps from production facilities are recycled into new materials.
Carbon Reduction — Our production partner actively calculates its carbon footprint and is working toward science-based emissions targets.
Recycled Polyester (rPET)
Recycled polyester is made from post-consumer materials — plastic bottles, packaging, and waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. Processed into yarn, then fibre, then fabric, it retains all the performance qualities of virgin polyester while significantly reducing its environmental toll: up to 53% less energy to produce, and approximately 55% fewer CO₂ emissions.
It's the same quality. A fraction of the impact.
Products like our Scrunchies & Bandanas are made with rPET — a small but deliberate choice to keep plastic waste out of landfills and in circulation.
